UnTapped Genius (“UG,” “we,” “us”) operates untappedgenius.org, including Genius OS, the platform UG staff, consultants, and partner district and campus leaders use to manage partnership work, goals, and reporting. This page explains what information we collect, whether you’re just browsing the site or signed in to Genius OS, how we use it, and who it’s shared with.
Information we collect
Through Google Sign-In
When you sign in to Genius OS with your Google account, Google shares a small set of basic profile fields with us: your name, email address, and profile photo. We use this to create and secure your account and to confirm you are who you say you are. We do not receive your Google password, and we do not access your Gmail, Drive, Calendar, or any other Google service beyond this basic sign-in information.
Information you provide directly
Depending on your role, this can include your district or campus affiliation, and the goals, evidence, KPI data, and other partnership records you enter while using the platform.
Collected automatically
Like most web applications, we log basic technical data (such as IP address and browser type) and use a strictly necessary session cookie to keep you signed in and keep the platform secure. We do not use cookies for advertising or cross-site tracking.
How we use this information
- To create, authenticate, and secure your account.
- To determine your role and which districts or campuses you have access to.
- To operate the platform’s features, including goal tracking, KPI reporting, and the resource hub.
- To communicate with you about your account or partnership work.
- To maintain the security and reliability of the platform.
What we don’t do
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share the profile data we receive from Google Sign-In with advertisers or other third parties for marketing purposes.
Who we share information with
We share information only as needed to operate Genius OS:
- Service providers that host and run the platform on our behalf (for example, our cloud hosting, database, and email delivery providers), who are only permitted to use your information to provide those services to us.
- Authorized staff at your own district or organization, where that’s necessary for partnership management (for example, a district leader viewing their campus’ progress).
- Others, if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of UG or our users.
Data retention
We retain account and partnership data for as long as your account is active or as needed to support the partnership record. You can request that we delete your account and associated personal information at any time; see “Contact us” below.
Your choices
- You can ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you.
- You can revoke Genius OS’s access to your Google account at any time from your Google Account permissions page.
Children’s privacy
Genius OS is intended for UG staff, consultants, and adult district and campus staff. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We’ll update the “Last updated” date above when we do, and if a change is significant, we’ll take reasonable steps to let you know.
